The new uniforms in the aviation industry are currently emerging rapidly, and Iceland Air is no exception. Both the ground and flight staff are getting a new clothing package after fifteen years. However, whether they are really improving is still a question. In this article, I’ll show you the old and new uniforms. I’m curious to hear what you think.
Brand new uniforms for Iceland Air staff
In celebration of the new uniforms, the Icelandic airline has released a video. With uplifting music and grand, ambitious texts, the whole presentation looks polished.
However, when I look at the clothing itself, the video seems more like a way to ‘spruce up’ the collection. It appears to compensate for the lack of innovation in design. They have again opted for dark blue fabrics combined with gold buttons and white blouses.
The scarf is one of the small details they have adjusted. It’s a nice scarf, but even this is not very remarkable.
I find the uniform package very dull and predictable. As an airline, new uniforms are the moment to distinguish yourself from competitors. Distinctiveness also creates recognizability. With a unique appearance, passengers and colleagues can identify the staff more quickly. Unfortunately, they have missed that opportunity.
What do you think of the new uniforms?
Greetings,
Aileen
