There are few places where representative workwear is as important as in an exclusive club. But in 2024, this doesn’t necessarily mean you have to look fancy. Sometimes, a casual look can also enhance your image. In this article, I’ll show you what the bartenders in the best Asian clubs are wearing.

What the bartenders in the best Asian clubs are wearing

1. Coa (Hong Kong)

At Coa in Hong Kong, they’ve opted for a unique, signature style. The rugged leather aprons feature gold accents, sometimes with the bartender’s name on them. It exudes quality, fitting for this establishment. Jay Khan, Coa’s owner, won the Bartenders’ Bartender Award in 2020. The bar itself has been ranked number one on the list of best Asian bars three times. At such a level, the workwear naturally has to be top quality as well.

2. BKK Social Club (Bangkok)

BKK Social Club emphasizes glitter, glamour, and good times. The green accents in the workwear perfectly complement the natural surroundings, where plants decorate the chandeliers. This Bangkok club has been awarded the title of Best Bar in Thailand for two consecutive years.

3. Bar Benfiddich (Tokyo)

Hiroyasu Kayama (left in the photo) has created a unique concept with Bar Benfiddich. As the owner of a farm the size of a football field, he harvests the ingredients for the drinks that he and his team serve. The workwear in the bar is formal, but with a nostalgic twist. Kayama himself often wears a suit reminiscent of English country style—understated chic without too much fuss or glitter.

4. Nutmeg & Clove (Singapore)

At Nutmeg & Clove, they’re not afraid to stand out. The sweet, pink blazers are stylishly paired with black ties and white shirts. The black buttons and the logo on the chest match beautifully with the black tie and trousers. A great example of unique and stylish workwear.

5. Smoke & Bitters (Hiriketiya)

This cocktail bar and smokehouse in Hiriketiya, about a two-and-a-half-hour drive from the capital of Sri Lanka, opts for a modern, more casual look. As seen in the photo, the aprons are made of rough cotton with leather accents. The relaxed clothing style fits well with the laid-back atmosphere that attracts both tourists and locals alike.

6. Argo (Hong Kong)

  1. Four Seasons beverage manager Federico Balzarini has established the bar Argo in Hong Kong. The workwear is a combination of formal pieces, but with cheerful prints and bold aprons with leather details. A daring but certainly successful mix of styles. Very impressive!

Which uniforms do you like the most?
