LOT Polish Airlines’ cabin crew has received new accessories. The scarves, ties, and pocket squares feature a unique print inspired by the art history of Poland. Not only does this come with an interesting story, but it also looks fantastic. In this article, I’ll show you the old and new accessories of LOT Polish Airlines.

Old accessories

The old accessories were quite simple in appearance. The combination of different shades of blue is something you often see in aviation. It’s a representative but also safe choice.

For the new accessories, the designers from fashion house Lancerto took inspiration from the artists of the Young Poland period (1905-1918). This was a group that rebelled against both modern movements and traditional culture and art. Essentially, they followed their own style, often referred to as Neo-Romanticism, with nature, particularly plants and flowers, being central themes.

The print, featuring many flowers, can certainly be called romantic. Dark blue, white, and burgundy combine to make the pattern truly stand out this time. The contrast also adds a fresh, new detail, making the otherwise simple uniform unique.

The ties are not yet visible in the press photos, but the collection will soon be expanded with matching ties. The male cabin crew will receive a dark blue version with small red cranes, while the senior cabin crew will have the colors reversed: a red tie with small dark blue cranes. Men working in ground services will wear a red tie with one large crane on it. The men’s pocket squares will match the pattern of the women’s scarves.

The female cabin crew will now wear a white scarf with red details and a dark blue trim. For senior female crew members on board, there is a dark blue scarf with red details. Ground staff will have a white scarf with a red print and a red trim.

A big improvement

I believe the new accessories are a significant improvement over what they used to wear. Not only visually, but the story behind it is also beautiful. It tells something about the country’s history, which is the perfect way to make a uniform stand out.

What do you think of the new accessories?

Best regards,
Aileen
