With its new uniforms, SKY Airline has introduced a completely fresh look — including sneakers. According to the Chilean airline, the outfits combine functionality with style. In this article, I’ll show you both the old and new uniforms.

Old SKY Airline uniforms

The old uniforms, made from grey denim, had a rather casual appearance. Because of the fit, which was often either too tight or too loose, the overall look wasn’t very representative. The company tried to bring in its brand colors with purple and bright green details, but that didn’t help the design. The styles and colors simply didn’t match well, making the whole outfit look unbalanced.

SKY Airline new uniforms 2025

For the new uniforms, SKY Airline took a completely different direction. The Chilean design company Proyecto Visión worked together with SKY employees to develop a new clothing package — this time without any denim.

The collection includes a dark purple suit and dress for female crew members, a light purple blouse, and a black trench coat. The bright green color from the logo appears subtly in the scarf and dress lining. Male crew members wear a light purple shirt combined with a grey suit.

Pilots of SKY Airline

The pilots’ uniforms are less revolutionary than those of the cabin crew. They wear a grey suit with a white shirt, and the bright green color only reappears subtly in the tie pattern. That’s not too surprising. Pilot uniforms are usually more conservative in appearance.

Sneakers for all cabin crew

SKY Airline also introduced new shoes. Female pilots and first officers now wear short boots, while the rest of the cabin crew get white sneakers made by the Brazilian brand Olympikus. This fits perfectly within the trend seen at many other airlines. In recent years, Bangkok Airways, KLM, Scandinavian Airlines, and SkyUp have all introduced sneakers for their crews.

Ironically, SKY Airline claims to be “the first airline to adopt sneakers as an official trademark of style and comfort.”

Now, I know companies like to pat themselves on the back, and sometimes they exaggerate a little. But calling yourself the first airline with sneakers in 2025 is clearly untrue.

Aside from that clumsy statement, I have to compliment SKY Airline on the new uniforms. They are a huge improvement over the previous denim outfits, which honestly didn’t look like uniforms at all. The new design looks much more professional and polished. Plus, the choice of a purple suit is bold but very well executed.

Best,

Aileen
