After twelve years, the cabin crew of S7 Airlines finally receive a new uniform. The airline introduces a comfortable and stylish capsule collection featuring dark grey suits with lime-green details. With this change, S7 Airlines takes a clear step away from its colorful 2013 design. In this article, I’ll show you both the new and old uniforms and explain what has changed.
S7 Airlines uniform from 2013
In July 2013, S7 Airlines presented a striking uniform that immediately became a cheerful calling card for the Russian airline. The base color was cyan, combined with the company’s signature lime-green shade. The women’s collection consisted of fourteen items, while the men’s included eight.

The blue uniform was the summer version. The winter uniform, launched a year earlier, was red. Both were designed by Russian fashion designer Alexander Terekhov.

New S7 Airlines Uniform: stylish lime-green capsule collection
With the new uniforms, S7 Airlines has taken a completely new direction. The goal was to create a capsule collection where various garments could be mixed and matched. Each item had to be comfortable enough to wear even after work. Not a bad idea, considering that many crew members travel to and from destinations in uniform.

Unlike the previous uniform, this time the airline didn’t choose a fashion or corporate clothing designer. Maria Fileva, Deputy General Director for Marketing and PR at S7 Airlines, led the project and hired stylist and fashion consultant Alexey Sukharev as an advisor.
Capsule collection for cabin crew
Both male and female crew members receive nine garments that can be combined into seventeen outfit variations. That’s relatively few, especially considering that the collection must suit both summer and winter. To ensure comfort in all climates, S7 Airlines deliberately chose a mix of 42% wool, 6% elastane, and 52% polyester. This blend keeps the uniform temperature-regulating, flexible, and neat even after repeated washing.
Another noticeable change: formal shoes are gone. Instead, employees now wear black sneakers with black or lime-green laces. This follows the trend we’ve already seen at other airlines, such as KLM, Sky Airline and SkyUp, which also introduced sneakers as part of their crew uniforms.
What will happen to the old S7 Airlines uniforms?
The cabin crew will have to wait just a bit longer, the new uniforms will debut in November. At that point, more than 2,300 employees will switch from their brightly colored outfits to the new, modern collection. What will happen to the old uniforms remains unclear for now. It would be a shame to simply throw them away; looking at those vibrant colors, I can already imagine possibilities. Perhaps as decorative bunting or even a playful bag collection in DHL style.
Still, it’s a bit unfortunate that S7 Airlines is saying goodbye to its cheerful suits. They gave the airline a distinctive look within the industry and, with their fresh color combination, created an optimistic first impression on board. The new uniforms appear more functional, almost like workwear designed for visibility standards rather than representation. In my eyes, that’s a missed opportunity.
And you? What do you think of S7 Airlines’ new uniforms?
Kind regards,
Aileen
