The Riyadh Air uniforms unveiled at Paris Couture Fashion Week have drawn a lot of attention. With some stunning uniforms, of course. And this unique collection actually fits in quite well with the event. In this article, I’ll show you the new uniforms and tell you all about them.

Riyadh Air

The new airline Riyadh Air is named after the capital of Saudi Arabia. So, it’s no surprise that the company, founded by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, is based there.

Riyadh Air is a subsidiary and wholly owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, which finances commercial projects that stimulate the country’s economic growth. To steer the company in the right direction, they appointed British businessman Tony Douglas as Chief Executive Officer. Douglas is no stranger to this industry. From January 2018 to October 2022, he was also the CEO of Etihad Airways and before that, Chief Executive of the Abu Dhabi Airports Company (2013-2015).

For the first collection of uniforms, Riyadh Air collaborated with Saudi Arabian fashion designer Ashi. According to the press release, he was inspired by airline fashion from the 1950s. This style, combined with modern details, has resulted in a particularly chic clothing line.

Riyadh Air uniforms for men and pilots

Usually, men’s uniforms for airlines are quite simple, but Riyadh Air shows that simplicity can also be very chic. Instead of the standard light shirts and dark jackets, they opted for a single dark shade. A nice detail is that the lining of the left jacket in the photo above matches the “R” in the company’s logo.

Only with the pilots did they stick to tradition. Just about every pilot in the world wears a similar uniform, and they evidently didn’t want to deviate from that.

Details of the Riyadh Air Women’s uniforms

As with many other airlines, it’s the women’s uniforms that steal the show. Riyadh Air chose a simple dress with a striking neckline that resembles a draped scarf. It looks unique and chic at the same time.

Just like the men’s jacket, the women’s jacket also has lines that reflect the “R” shape of the company’s logo. The sharp seams make the jacket very fitted. It looks beautiful in the photo, but I’m curious how this would fit on a fuller-figured woman.

After the dress with the striking collar, this suit is my second favorite. It’s just as beautifully tailored and stunning due to its color and simplicity.

For colder moments, the women receive a dark purple coat, cinched with a belt. This not only looks nice but is also very practical, as you can adjust how tightly the coat fits around your body.

Cabin crew bag and shoes

The only downside to this collection, in my opinion, is the shoes and bag. The shoes and bag look a bit cheap compared to the Riyadh Air uniforms. Plus, the bag is so small that I wonder how much the women can actually carry in it.

  1. RIYADH AIR, THE NEW SAUDI AIRLINE, the cabin crew’s new all-black uniforms are sinister, sad, and suggest misfortune, even catastrophe!

These new all-black uniforms are unique in the world, absurd, and unsuitable for an international airline. No airline in the world wears all-black cabin crew! It will soon be taking off in Saudi Arabia.

As I already explained in another article, these uniforms are not suitable for serving passengers for hours! And I repeat, this airline will not take off in joy and good humor with cabin crew dressed in such dark colors that bring neither energy nor dynamism to the staff nor the passengers. It’s HORRIBLE! Wearing these dark blue and black uniforms is a lack of style and class.

Praise is pouring in online, but criticism is also plentiful. No hijab for women or kandora for men. Perhaps the modernity of this new Saudi airline isn’t based on tradition in its staff uniforms. It’s a very bad idea to do away with Saudi traditions. Tourists who want to travel to Saudi Arabia want to experience traditions without being strict, but the cabin crew shouldn’t be so modern as to disrupt the culture and traditions. This is completely unacceptable.

RIDICULOUS AND ABSURD: Why imitate the United States, which is absolutely not comparable to Saudi Arabia, as modern as it is! With a much richer culture to showcase than that of the United States? Don’t compare yourself to the United States; live your culture and lifestyle while modernizing them… Show the world the new Saudi Arabia has more imagination and innovation than the Americans.
stead: Hollywood and glamorous atmosphere. Riyadh Air, Not at all Hollywood left that to the USA, Saudi Arabia is not at all Hollywood each country has its culture and it must be respected !!
Riyadh Air, will start its flights this year, presented its uniforms are horrible and morbid, its uniforms have no energy as great a designer as he is his uniforms are not functional for the work of the reception on board the planes – but rather for reception in a funeral home to welcome the dead too tight to serve passengers on board
During the Paris Fashion Week of 2024. These are dark blue and purple and have a progressive cut. “Wow, the Saudis are being smart but that’s not going to make them win,”

“Very stylish and elegant, you can see there is no elegance in these new uniforms, it does not represent the Middle East at all”,

    He wants to stimulate tourism
Other airlines in the region have a much more traditional approach. Which is welcoming and superb to look at, its radiance of brightness and sunshine that is not on this new airline Ryhad Air when you arrive at the boarding entrance
For example Saudia, the national airline of Saudi Arabia. But Emirates and Qatar Airways also rely on the classic Arab look with their respective uniforms, this is quite normal and they respect the culture of these countries. The fact that Riyadh Air is adopting a strategy that is NOT modern AT ALL is part of the strategy of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, I am a big fan of Prince MBS and with all due respect to Prince MBS, I allow myself to tell him that he is wrong in his choice of these uniforms and I am surprised by his choicet Riyadh Air is adopting a strategy that is NOT modern AT ALL is part of the strategy of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, I am a big fan of Prince MBS and with all due respect to Prince MBS, I allow myself to tell him that he is wrong in his choice of these uniforms and I am surprised by his chose
But in the country, if criticism is flying against the policy of Mohammad bin Salman. The hard-line religious do not RIDICULOUS & ABSURD why to imitate the USA which is not at all to be compared with Saudi Arabia, as modern as it wants to become! with a much richer culture to show than the United States – Please don’t compare yourself to the USA, live your culture and lifestyle while modernizing it… show the world that Saudi Arabia has more imagination and innovation than the Americans
Who doesn’t remember the movie ‘Catch Me If You Can’, when Di Caprio walks around the terminal building and stops everyone because they look glamorous.” It makes you smile!!! This glamour is not at all suitable in Saudi terminals and do not compare the USA with Saudi Arabia, a country totally different in its culture and way of life and on the country in general there is no reason to imitate the USA

Glamour is not reaat all suitable in Saudi terminals and do not compare the USA with Saudi Arabia, a country totally different in its culture and way of life and on the country in general there is no reason to imitate the USA

Glamour is not really in its place in Saudi Arabia as in the USA it is completely ABSURD AND RIDICULOUS. This is exactly what should not be brought back with a “modern twist”.

I find my suggestions of uniform and color more adapted to this new airline Riyadh Air and to the future modernism of this country that I adore, SAUDI ARABIA as well as the Royal family
