A new designer with new colours, details and prints. In 2025, Holland Casino has clearly chosen a different look. In this article, I’ll show you the old and new clothing.

Old company clothing Holland Casino (2015–2025)

The previous clothing package was launched in 2015 and was already quite a change at the time. Because whereas the staff previously wore mostly black, new colours and prints were now introduced. The designs by Monique Collignon were festive and diverse, but also provided a consistent appearance. Although each department had its own outfit, they still matched the overall look nicely.

New company clothing for Holland Casino

In April 2023, Holland Casino announced that new company clothing was being developed. For this collection, they collaborated with Mattijs van Bergen, who already had some experience in the field of workwear. For example, he has designed collections for, among others, the National Theatre, W Hotel and the Efteling. But our queen Máxima is also one of his clients.

For the new company clothing, he spoke with around 150 employees, and another 40 employees were available for the test panel.

“With this new collection, we have carefully created clothing for everyone, embodying everything Holland Casino stands for: chic, powerful, bold, and yet also comfortable and pleasant. It has been a great honour and pleasure for me to design a collection for the Holland Casino employees that is ready for the future: comfort without losing any of its appearance,” said Mattijs van Bergen.

It is notable that the title of the press release says the clothing is sustainable, but this is not mentioned later in the text. And in a time when recycling and environmental awareness are central, that is rather remarkable. What will happen to the old company clothing, and what is the new one made of? These are questions the company apparently does not (yet) want to answer.

New dress code

There is also no mention of the new dress code that was announced last year. In an interview with PW, Holland Casino’s HR director Maud Provily-Sliepen announced that it would be relaxed in 2025. This means that male and female staff may wear any clothing item, as long as it is part of the company clothing collection. In practice, this means men are allowed to wear a skirt and women a men’s pair of trousers. Additionally, the rules around appearance have also been adjusted. Staff in the sports bar no longer need to cover their tattoos and men, just like women, are allowed to wear nail polish.

The fact that there is no mention of this in the press release is odd. Nowadays it’s very common for companies to relax their dress codes. Why wouldn’t they mention this in the press release? Or have the changes perhaps been reversed?

Different, but still festive

The new clothing has a completely different look, but is just as festive as the previous collection. I just find the cobalt blue fabric and the yellow-pink bands a strange choice. It doesn’t really match the rest of the clothing, which—with its muted tones—has a chic appearance.

What do you think of the new company clothing?

Cheers,
Aileen
