EasyJet donates old uniforms to job seekers after new research

After launching EasyJet’s new uniforms in 2025, the airline had to find a responsible destination for the old clothing. Instead of discarding the garments, EasyJet donates old uniforms to job seekers after research showed that this particular group is in real need of professional interview clothing.

If you are curious about the new uniforms, you can watch them in the video below where I explain everything about the designs.

EasyJet donates old uniforms to job seekers

Unemployment in England rose by 5.2 percent in the last three months of 2025. This concerns nearly two million people who lost their jobs. Research shows that around 57 percent of unemployed people in the UK feel disadvantaged due to a lack of professional clothing, and for 46 percent this has negatively affected their job interviews. The reason is that seven out of ten job seekers cannot afford suitable clothing or struggle financially to buy it.

For that reason, EasyJet decided to donate part of its old uniforms to NOAH Enterprise, a charity in Luton that supports unemployed people. This marks the beginning of a larger initiative. In the coming period, the airline will collaborate with several local organisations in a similar way.

Not the first time EasyJet donates uniforms

This is not the first time the British airline has donated uniforms. At the end of 2025, EasyJet also donated part of its uniforms to an organisation that turned them into school uniforms. At the time, I created a video about this, which you can watch below.

I believe donating uniforms to job seekers is far more effective than transforming them into school uniforms. The people attending job interviews can wear the garments immediately, without additional time and energy being spent on altering them.

Applying for jobs in EasyJet clothing

EasyJet also asked whether people would be open to this idea. The results show that 83 percent believe suitable interview clothing increases self confidence, and 89 percent say it improves their chances of securing a job. Most importantly, 79 percent say they are willing to wear second hand corporate clothing during a job interview.

At the same time, there is an important consideration. Wearing a plain white EasyJet shirt may not be an issue. But would you really want to wear the recognisable blazer with orange buttons and piping? Even without the logos, many people will still recognise it as an EasyJet uniform, especially when you combine it with a skirt or trousers. That is something most applicants will want to avoid. A separate blazer, blouse, skirt or pair of trousers, however, can easily be styled with other pieces so that it looks like regular professional attire.

I see this as a strong initiative that many other airlines could follow. It supports people who genuinely need the clothing and requires little additional effort. Recycling garments matters, but keeping clothing in use until it is truly worn out makes even more sense.
