Carhartt now sells flame-resistant slippers

Slippers are probably the last type of footwear you’d expect to wear at work. Yet, Carhartt has launched a pair of slippers that are both durable and flame-resistant. And considering the price, that’s to be expected. In this article, I’ll show you the slippers and tell you all about them.

The workwear brand has developed the Cordura Slippers, as they’re called, in collaboration with SUBU. This Japanese brand specializes in so-called winter sandals, which are often referred to as slippers.

For this edition, they’ve used Carhartt’s durable fabric in the color Hamilton Brown. The material is made from polyester (Cordura® 305D) and has the added feature of being flame-resistant. Inside, there’s a soft lining made up of four layers. At €75, they’re on the pricey side for slippers, but you do get a bag with them. Another plus is the wide range of sizes: they’re available from EU size 35 to 46. These are men’s sizes, which means they might fit a bit larger for women.

For the Carhartt enthusiasts

I expect that only true Carhartt fans will buy these slippers and perhaps the accompanying bag. I can’t imagine anyone wearing them at work, let alone in an environment where people work with fire.

If you’re interested, you’d better act fast. They’re available through selected (online) retailers and are already (almost) sold out in many places. Tip: if you search for “Carhartt SUBU” through search engines, you’ll find various online shops that offer these slippers.

Note: according to Carhartt’s website, these slippers cannot be exchanged or returned, so keep that in mind.

Greetings,

Aileen
